Tagaytay Eats: Sonya’s Garden

As promised, this shall be the happier side of my birthday post. :D

Last April 6, my family and I celebrated my 23rd birthday at Sonya’s Garden, Tagaytay. We arrived around 10:30 AM and head off to the Panaderia where fresh-from-oven- breads are being prepared. Since it’s already way past breakfast, there were only few selections of bread on sale.

Afterwards, we head to the Information Area to ask where the restaurant is for the buffet. The lady gave us the set menu list and we were told to wait for 20 minutes since they’re still preparing the kitchen. As such, we wandered off the garden.

We went back to the Information Area and we were given our seat. Boy, I love the feel of the place with all the simple, white interiors!

And now, the food adventure begins. Take note that menu descriptions are from the list given to us.

Garden Salad Greens – Freshly harvested organically grown variety of luscious lettuce, arugula and garnishing of seasonal fruits. Drizzled with Sonya’s Secret Salad Dressing or Balasamic vinegar/ extra virgin olive oil and parmesan cheese.

Beverage – Bottomless freshly – squeezed dalandan juice (green mandarin) and tarragon tea.

Bread – Newly baked whole wheat sesame bread from the Panaderia with an array of freshly made dips & toppings: basil pesto, white cheese, anchovies (favorite!), bruschetta tomato toppings, mushroom pate, black olive tapinade and fresh green peppercorn in olive oil.

Pasta – With two kinds of sauces and toppings: tomatoes, garlic and onion simmered in olive oil and bits of chicken with cream and mango. Topped with ratatouille, salmon belly, shitake mushrooms, black olives, capers and grated parmesan cheese.

Dessert – Glazed sweet potato (enjoy with mint leaves), banana rolls with sesame & jack fruit, and smashingly sinful homemade chocolate cake from the Panaderia.

The Set Meal/ Eat -All- You – Can Lunch is only Php 683.00 net per person.  The food is great, we were all tummy- happy! This is not bad at all!

Sonya’s Garden also offers guesthouses for those who want to stay overnight. They also have spa services, function rooms for celebrations like weddings, debut, reunions and team buildings. You may contact them here:

  1. Been eating at Sonya’s since they serve even the pasta on your table. I love the food especially the patani seeds for the salad and chocolate cake. Sayang the “secret garden” is not a secret anymore. na-commercialize na.. but oh well that’s business. You should try Marcia Adams in Tagaytay as well! Definitely worth it. ;)

    1. Haha, well I think it is better that we can get our own serving of pasta since I was already full with the salad and bread. :P Thanks for the recommendation, will definitely try Marcia Adams. What’s their best dish? :)

What do you think?
