Baguio Eats [Part 3]

Last but not the least, here’s our Day 3 food experience!

Restaurant No. 4: CAFE BY THE RUINS

Cafe by the Ruins is among the top must dine-in places in Baguio. The restaurant is strategically located at the busy Chuntug Street, near the City Hall. We were supposed to eat breakfast at the place but arrived just in time for lunch. We had some mixed up with the directions which led us to change our itinerary (awwww!). Most bloggers have written about the restaurant’s breakfast dishes but then I’ll be posting about our lunch instead. ;)

As the name suggests, the restaurant is established within an old, ruined building. The ambiance itself reminds me of the old Filipino – Spanish era with its broken brick walls, uneven paved floor, bamboo fences and wooden furniture.

While eating, I understood what the fad is all about (even if we had the Lunch menu)! Everything was so delicious! Tita Susie’s Crispy Tapa, their bestseller, was really good! The 3 Mushroom Crepe was a definite treat for a mushroom-lover like me! The serving size of the meals were really huge, though a bit overpriced. Of all the restaurants we tried, Cafe by the Ruins has the most expensive meals ranging from Php 250 – 350, while most restaurants are serving food as low as Php 100 – 150/meal. Nevertheless, I can say that this is a great place to bring your date to or your family for a celebration.
